Govt approves export of 1,200 MTs of hilsa to India for Durga Puja

DHAKA, Sept 8, 2025 (BSS) – Like every year, the government has taken a policy decision subject to condition to export 1,200 Metric tons (MTs) of hilsa fish to India on the occasion of upcoming Durga Puja, the commerce ministry said in a statement here today.

For this, the interested applicants have been advised to apply through hard copy during office hour within September 11, it read.

Along with the application, the updated trade license of the exporting organization, Export Registration Certificate (ERC), income tax certificate, VAT certificate, sales agreement, license of the Department of Fisheries and other relevant documents must be submitted.

The government has set the minimum export price of hilsa at US$12.5. It is mentionable that those who have already applied without invitation will also have to submit a new application.
