Govt to procure two cargo LNG

DHAKA, Sept 9, 2025 (BSS) - The government today approved separate proposals for procuring two cargo of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) to meet the country's growing demand.

The approvals came from the 35th meeting of the Advisers Council Committee on Government Purchase (ACCGP) this year held today with Finance Adviser Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed in the chair.

Following a proposal from the Energy and Mineral Resources Division, Petrobangla would procure one cargo LNG from the spot market using the following international quotation method from M/S Aramco Trading Singapore Pte Limited, Singapore at a cost of Taka 497.91 crore.

In addition, Petrobangla would procure one cargo LNG from the spot market using the following international quotation method from M/S Gunvor Singapore Pte Ltd, Singapore at a cost of Taka 502.95 crore following another proposal from the division.

Besides, the committee also approved another proposal of the Energy and Mineral Resources Division to procure consultancy services under the "Technical Assistance for Carbon Abatement of the Oil and Gas Value Chain" project from Carbon Limits AS, Norway at a cost of Taka 50.52 crore.
