Speaking on the occasion, the River Police chief directed all officers and staff, including superintendents of police working in 11 regions of the force, to strengthen security measures in their respective jurisdictions to ensure smooth celebrations of the upcoming Durga Puja beginning at the end of this month.

He said River Police security will be reinforced to prevent any untoward incidents during the largest religious festival of the Hindu community.

The River Police chief also instructed the regional superintendents to ensure security at important Puja Mandaps while maintaining a festive atmosphere.

He expressed gratitude to the leaders of the Dhaka Mohanagar Puja Udjapon Committee for attending the meeting.

The DIG, additional DIGs, superintendents of police, additional superintendents, and leaders of various ranks of Puja Udjapon Committees attended the meeting both in person and virtually.
