DHAKA, Sept 14, 2025 (BSS) - Chief Adviser (CA) Professor Muhammad Yunus today said that the role of the youth in the development progress of Bangladesh is immense.

"The role of the youth in the development progress of Bangladesh is immense. Harnessing the power of youth, our youth led the bloody July Uprising," he said in a message issued on the occasion of Youth Volunteer Award 2025'.

"I am happy to know that the 'Youth Volunteer Award 2025' is being presented like every year at the initiative of the Ministry of Youth and Sports. I extend my warmest greetings and congratulations to all those who have been nominated for the 'Youth Volunteer Award' this year," said Dr Yunus.

"Our young volunteers are playing a unique role in nation-building with their dedication, courage, creativity and tireless work," he said.

This dedication of youth is the main driving force for positive change in our society, he added.

"Our youths are actively participating and volunteering in various fields of social development including education, healthcare, environmental conservation and disaster management", he added.

Dr Yunus said the Ministry of Youth and Sports introduced the 'Youth Volunteer Award' to honor their contribution and inspire more young people to volunteer.

Noting that it is undoubtedly a commendable initiative, he said: "I sincerely thank all those involved for taking the initiative to reward these pioneers of social change."

The current interim government, after assuming office, has undertaken multifaceted reform and development programs to build a new Bangladesh, he said.

The full participation of young volunteers is essential for the successful implementation of this huge project, he added.

The Chief Adviser hoped that the younger generation will be inspired by the award-winning volunteers and will fulfill their responsibilities with more dedication and concentration in building the country.
