Rizwana mourns death of environment secretary's mother Rahatun Nesa

DHAKA, Sept 15, 2025 (BSS) - Environment, Forest and Climate Adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan today expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Rahatun Nesa, mother of the ministry's secretary Dr. Farhina Ahmed.

In a condolence message, the Adviser prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and expressed deep sympathy to the members of the bereaved family.
 
Rahatun Nesa passed away this morning while undergoing treatment at Government Employees Hospital in the capital. She was 91 years old.

She is survived by one son, six daughters and numerous relatives and well-wishers. She had been receiving treatment for various age-related illnesses for a long period.

The first Namaj-e-Janaza funeral will be held today after Zuhr prayer at the Secretary Quarter premises. 

Besides, the second Namaj-e-Janaza will take place after Asr prayer at Kazifuri Jame Mosque in Mirpur-1 (opposite Shah Ali Police Station). 

After the prayer, the deceased will be laid to rest at Mirpur Shaheed Buddhijibi graveyard. The family has requested everyone to offer prayers for the departed soul.
