DHAKA, Sept 21, (BSS) - The Dhaka University (DU) authorities have condemned and protested rumor about Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan, linking him to a certain political party.

The claim is baseless and derogatory surfacing on social media, said a DU press release today.

It said some vested quarters have tried to link the Vice-Chancellor with a particular political party, driven by malicious and ill-intention.

Prof Khan never involved with any political party and he had clarified this matter to the media multiple times, the press release added.

It noted that during his student life, he was a non-residential student of the Dhaka University, making the allegation of political involvement during that period entirely fabricated.

The DU authorities said such claimed have undermined the personal dignity of the Vice-Chancellor as well as the reputation of the university.
