Cautionary Signal No 3 issued for maritime ports

DHAKA, Oct 1, 2025 (BSS) - The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today issued local cautionary Signal No. 3 for all maritime ports.

"Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to hoist local cautionary Signal No. 3 (R3)," said a special bulletin released by the BMD this morning.

All fishing boats and trawlers operating over the North Bay have been advised to return to the coast and proceed with caution until further notice, the bulletin added.

According to the special weather bulletin, under the influence of a well-marked low over the west-central Bay and adjoining areas, heavy to very heavy rain with gusty or squally winds may affect maritime ports, the North Bay, and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh.
