Families of children martyred during July Uprising to be honored

DHAKA, Oct 1, 2025 (BSS) - On the occasion of World Children's Day on October 6, families of the children embraced martyrdom during the July Uprising will be honored.
 
This year, it will be celebrated through various programmes, said a PID handout today.
 
 In addition, from September 29 to October 5, the Children Rights Week with the theme - "Shishur Kotha Bolbo Aj, Shishur Jonnyo Korbo Kaj (Speak about children rights today, work for children)."
 
To celebrate the government's World Children's Day, the Ministry of Women and Children's Affairs and the Bangladesh Shishu Academy have organized various programmes at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium.
 
Women and Children's Affairs Adviser Sharmeen S. Murshid will be present as the chief guest.
 
Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Women and Children's Affairs Momtaz Ahmed will preside over the programme, and special guest speeches will be delivered by UNICEF representatives and child representatives.
 
In addition, the guardians of children who were martyred in the July Mass Uprising will express their feelings. Documentaries on children will be screened at the programme.
