MUNSHIGANJ, Oct 1, 2025 (BSS) - Home Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury today said that miscreants had attempted to disrupt Durga Puja celebrations under outside influence, but their efforts failed.

"The miscreants tried to create instability in the puja influenced from outside, but they did not succeed," he said while visiting the Durga Puja mandap at Isapura in Sirajdikhan this afternoon.

The adviser noted that at the outset of the puja, rumors about a rape incident were spread to instigate unrest, but the attempts failed.

"This year, Durga Puja has been celebrated with full festivity across the country," he added, expressing gratitude to all who helped ensure the smooth celebration.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer Shahina Akhter, Puja Udhjapan Parishad President Badal Pal and other local elites were also present during the visit.
