Dengue: 1 die, 374 hospitalized in 24 hrs

DHAKA, Oct 4, 2025 (BSS) - A total of 374 new dengue patients were admitted 
to hospitals across the country and one passes away in the last 24 hours.

The information was disclosed in a press release issued by the Health 
Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of 
Health Services (DGHS) today.

Of the newly hospitalized patients, 63 were admitted in Barishal Division 
(outside City Corporation), 102 in Chattogram Division (outside City 
Corporation), 67 in Dhaka Division (outside City Corporation), 46 in Dhaka 
North City Corporation, 48 in Dhaka South City Corporation, 37 in Mymensingh 
Division (outside City Corporation) and 11 in Rajshahi division. 

During the period, 370 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals, 
bringing the total number of recoveries this year to 46,358.

According to the DGHS, a total of 48,865 dengue patients have been 
hospitalized so far in 2025 while 203 deaths have been reported due to dengue 
this year.

In 2024, Bangladesh recorded 101,214 dengue cases and 575 deaths.
