BAGERHAT, Oct 12, 2025 (BSS) - Detective Branch (DB) of Police in a drive 
arrested two notorious drug peddlers with 1,000 pieces of yaba tablets, one 
kilogram (Kg) of ganja and cash Taka 1,63,200 from Barashia village under 
Fakirhat Police Station of the district last night.

The arrested were Monir Sheikh, 46, son of late Abdul Hamid Sheikh and his 
associate Md. Russel Hossain, 35, son of Md. Razzak Hossain, residents of the 
same area.

A team of the DB police conducted a raid at the house of notorious drug 
dealer Monir Sheikh and arrested him along with Russel, said Officer-in-
Charge (OC) of Fakirhat Model Police Station Abdur Razzak Mir.

The team also seized the contraband drugs-- yaba and ganja-- and cash money 
from their possession, he said 

A case was filed in this connection, the OC added.
