MADARIPUR, Oct 12, 2025 (BSS) - A two-and half year old boy drowned in a pond at Haji Mollakandi village of Kutubpur union under Shibchar upazila of the district today.

The deceased was Anash, son of Ripon Hawlader of the village. 

Anash was playing in the yard of the house at noon. After some time, the family started searching for the child. Later, at around 2:30 pm, they found him floating in the pond in front of the house. 

He was quickly rescued and taken to the Shibchar Upazila Health Complex where on duty doctor declared him dead. 

Rakibul Islam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shibchar Police Station, confirmed the matter.
