
DHAKA, Nov 16, 2025 (BSS) – At least five dengue patients died while 1,139 others were hospitalised in last 24 hours till 8:00am today.
Among the deaths, two each were reported from Dhaka South City Corporation and Mymensingh division, while one from the Dhaka North City Corporation area, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
DGHS data shows that among the 1,139 patients admitted in the last 24 hours, 181 are from Barishal division, 141 from Chattogram, 246 from Dhaka division, with 182 under Dhaka North City Corporation and 118 under Dhaka South City Corporation.
119 patients were admitted in Khulna, 96 in Mymensingh, 46 in Rajshahi, 8 in Rangpur, and 1 in Sylhet division.
In the same 24-hour period, 1,199 dengue patients recovered and were released from hospitals, bringing the total number of recoveries this year to 81,442.
According to the DGHS, a total of 84,997 people have been infected with dengue so far in 2025. Among them, 62.4 percent are men and 37.6 percent are women.
All five deaths reported in the last 24 hours occurred in areas under Dhaka North City Corporation, raising the death toll from dengue this year to 336.
The DGHS also noted that in 2024, Bangladesh recorded 101,214 dengue cases and 575 deaths.
