Govt releases documentary on Humayun Ahmed

DHAKA, Nov 18, 2025 (BSS) - The Ministry of Cultural Affairs today released a documentary paying tribute to the country's most popular writer Humayun Ahmed on the occasion of his birth anniversary observed on November 13.

According to the Chief Adviser's Press Wing, the ministry has produced the 25:28 minute special tribute episode under the 'Celebrating Bangladeshi Legends' series.

The episode highlights that apart from being the most popular writer in Bangladesh, Humayun Ahmed has unique achievements as a filmmaker, playwright and lyricist.

It also portrays how characters like Himu, Misir Ali, Rupa and Shuvro become lively through his pen. 

Humayun Ahmed is regarded as one of the most powerful icons in Bangladesh's literary and cultural landscape.
