CUET PME Department organises National Workshop starts tomorrow

CHATTOGRAM, Nov 19, 2025 (BSS) - The Petroleum and Mining Engineering (PME) Department of Chattogram University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) will host a national workshop titled "National Workshop on Occupational (EHS) and Process Safety 2025" tomorrow. 

The program will be presided over by Professor Dr. Abu Sadat Muhammad Sayem, the Head of the PME Department. A press conference was held in the seminar room of the PME Department at CUET at 3pm, where Professor Dr. Sayem presented a written statement. 

Assistant Professors Md. Mizanur Rahman, Mohammad Mamun Ur Rashid, Amit Das, and Abu Sayem Biswas from the PME Department were also present at the press conference. 

Mohammad Muslim Chowdhury, Chairman of Sonali Bank, will attend the function as the chief guest, and Professor Dr. Mahmud Abdul Matin Bhuiyan, Vice-Chancellor of CUET, will also participate in the function as the guest of honor. 
 
Professor Dr. Kazi Afzalur Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical and Manufacturing, and Mohammad Mamun-ur-Rashid, National Workshop Convener and Assistant Professor of the PME Department will participate in the function as special guests. 

The workshop will be attended by 57 professionals from 31 industrial organizations, such as Jamuna Oil Company, Meghna Petroleum Limited, Eastern Refinery Limited, and Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation.  

Additionally, teachers and officials from public and private universities will participate. A total of 141 individuals, including 84 students and fresh graduates from universities and various organizations, will also take part in the workshop.
