Purchase committee approves 3 key development proposals

DHAKA, Nov 24, 2025 (BSS) - The government today approved several key development proposals worth over Taka 726 crore, covering road infrastructures and haor-area elevated road construction.

The approval came from the 47th meeting of the Advisers Council Committee on Government Purchase in this year held at the Cabinet Division Conference Room at Bangladesh Secretariat with Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed in the chair.

The day’s meeting approved a proposal from the Road Transport and Highways Division worth Taka 108.09 crore for widening and improvement works on regional highways under the Brahmanbaria Road Division, with M/S Jamil Iqbal recommended as the responsive bidder.

The Local Government Division placed two major proposals under the “Haor Area Elevated Road and Physical Infrastructure Development Project.” Two packages -- Package CW-1 (Sunamganj, Jamalganj): Taka 204.54 crore and Package CW-2: Taka 413.50 crore –- were approved in the meeting listing M.M. Builders and Engineers Ltd. as the recommended bidder.

The committee examined all three proposals and recommended for approval.

Officials said these projects will enhance connectivity and climate-resilient infrastructures in haor and flood-prone regions.
