DHAKA, Nov 25, 2025 (BSS) - The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) has handed over an Atomic Force Microscope to science faculty of Dhaka University (DU) to strengthen research capacity.

The equipment was handed over this afternoon at a program held at the conference room adjacent to the Vice-Chancellor's office.

DU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Niaz Ahmad Khan joined the event as the chief guest with DU Treasurer Prof. M Jahangir Alam Chowdhury in the chair.

Prof Khan said, "DU's recent achievement in the interdisciplinary science ranking has strengthened the university's visible position in global research. The advanced Atomic Force Microscope provided by TIKA would serve as a significant addition to scientific research at the university."

The Vice-Chancellor said the support would not only advance DU's research activities but also allow the university to open the facility to other research institutions once its own needs are met.
