Post-earthquake inspection continues in DU

DHAKA, Nov 26, 2025(BSS)- The technical inspection, assessment and monitoring 
of various residential halls and buildings of Dhaka University (DU) are 
continuing following the recent earthquake.

According to a DU press release, a BUET expert-led technical sub-committee 
has already completed inspections of six halls while another six-- Hazi 
Muhammad Mohsin Hall, Shamsunnahar Hall, Dr Qudrat-e-Khuda Hostel, Shaheed 
Athlete Sultana Kamal Hostel, Nawab Fayzunnesa Chowdhurani Dormitory and Poet 
Sufia Kamal Hall-- will be inspected tomorrow.

A central coordination committee, headed by DU Treasurer Professor Dr M 
Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, has been formed to oversee post-earthquake technical 
audits.
 
Four sub-committees, comprising BUET experts, will complete inspection, 
assessment and monitoring of all halls and buildings as soon as possible, the 
release said.

The university authorities said the inspection report will be made public, 
with detailed versions kept in the Engineering Office and respective halls.
 
"If any building is found risky, students will be relocated," it added.
