DHAKA, Nov 30, 2025 (BSS) – A special prayer for the recovery of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia was offered on the premises of the Dhakeshwari National Temple this afternoon.

In separate statements, Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council, Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad, and Mahanagar Sarbajanin Puja Committee expressed concern over Begum Khaleda Zia’s health condition.

The organizations also called for ensuring the highest level of her medical care and prayed for her quick recovery.

On Sunday last, Khaleda Zia was rushed to capital’s Evercare Hospital after she experienced respiratory distress. She is currently in the hospital’s Coronary Care Unit (CCU). The former prime minister is under the supervision of a medical board comprising local and foreign specialist physicians.

On Friday night, BNP leaders had said that her condition became extremely critical.
