DHAKA, Dec 1, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Nayeb-e-Ameer ATM
Azharul Islam today called on the nation to pray for the speedy recovery and
good health of BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.

In a statement, ATM Azharul Islam said, "Through boundless sacrifice,
courage, and struggle, BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum
Khaleda Zia has dedicated her life to safeguarding the nation's independence,
sovereignty, and state-building."

"Her steadfast opposition to 15 years of Awami League's fascist rule and her
relentless activism will remain engraved in the history of our nation," read
the statement.

He added that Khaleda Zia had been deprived of proper medical care abroad
while imprisoned on false and fabricated charges, which has placed her health
at serious risk. "Her condition has deteriorated due to the lack of adequate
and timely treatment," it added.

The Nayeb-e-Ameer said he, along with the nation's oppressed citizens, had
expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for her release following the July
uprising.

"At this critical moment, the nation expects her to return as a guiding
figure. We pray to Almighty Allah for her speedy recovery and complete
health. May Allah protect her and her family," he said.

ATM Azharul Islam also urged Khaleda Zia's family, party members, and
supporters to remain patient, while appealing to the people of Bangladesh to
offer prayers for her swift recovery.
