MUFG Bank MD meets DU VC, discusses enhanced support for students

DHAKA, Dec 3, 2025 (BSS) - Kenji Kimura, managing director (MD) of Japan's 
MUFG Bank Ltd., met Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr 
Niaz Ahmed Khan at latter's office here today to discuss expanding financial 
assistance for underprivileged students and strengthening academic 
cooperation.

During the meeting, they discussed providing financial assistance to 
underprivileged students of Dhaka University and explored opportunities for 
broader cooperation.

The VC sought enhanced support from the MUFG Bank MD for increasing the 
number of scholarships available to DU students.

The Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) of Japan awards scholarships to 24 
students of Dhaka University every year, with each student receiving 450 US 
dollars annually.
