‘Govt officials must understand legal provisions in duties’

KHULNA, Dec 11, 2025 (BSS) – Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Mahbuba Farzana today said that government officials and employees must have a clear understanding of legal provisions while performing their official duties.

“We are governed by the Constitution. Therefore, it is essential for government officials and employees to clearly understand the legal provisions related to their responsibilities,” she said as the chief guest while virtually inaugurating a day-long training titled ‘Case Management Laws, SF Writing Techniques and Duties’ held at the conference room of the Khulna Circuit House.

“We must know the basics of cases relevant to our responsibilities as conscious citizens. Government officers need to understand how to handle government cases and ensure justice and fairness for both plaintiffs and defendants. For this, knowledge of the Administrative Tribunal Rules and related laws is necessary,” she added.

Additional Secretary (Development) of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Dr. Mohammad Altaf-Ul-Alam, conducted the session while Joint Secretary Mahfuza Akhtar, Khulna District Judge Md. Masud Parvez, and Deputy Secretary Taslima Nur Hossain, addressed, as special guests.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Bithan Kumar Mandal, Director of the Divisional District Information Office Gazi Zakir Hossain, Deputy Principal Information Officer of the Regional Information Office A.S.M. Kabir, and Regional Director of Khulna Betar Md. Shamim Hossain, also addressed the training.

Officials from various departments under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting from the 10 districts of Khulna Division took part in the programme.
