3-day Intl Civil Engineering Research, Innovations conference begins at RUET

RAJSHAHI, Dec 12, 2025 (BSS)- A three-day International Conference on Civil Engineering Research and Innovations (ICCEI) 2025 began at Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) today.

Being hosted by the Department of Civil Engineering, the conference is focusing on new ideas in civil engineering, climate resilience, and infrastructure.

It aims to bridge global researchers and scholars in Civil Engineering to share cutting-edge innovations, focusing on structural, geotechnical, sustainability, and climate resilience in infrastructure.

Fostering collaboration, knowledge exchange, and practical insights for students and professionals to tackle modern challenges like climate change and smart urban development are the main objectives. 

Vice-chancellor (VC) Professor SM Abdur Razzaque and Dean of Civil Engineering Faculty Prof Muhammad Kamruzzaman addressed the opening ceremony as the chief and special guests respectively with Head of the Department of Civil Engineering Prof Zahurul Islam in the chair.

Prof Tayauki Sujuki from Japan's Yokohama National University, Director General (DG) of Bangladesh Railway Engineer Afzal Hossain and Additional Chief Engineer of the Department of Roads and Highway ASM Iliash Shah also spoke on the occasion.

VC Prof SM Abdur Razzaque said the event has brought together experts, researchers, and students for scholarly discussions on new research and emerging trends in Civil Engineering.

It will present recent advancements in structural health monitoring, AI/ML applications, green materials, and sustainable infrastructure.

He also said the conference will provide students with exposure to advanced concepts and practical solutions, aiding their academic and professional growth.

Besides, the conference will discuss and devise ways and means on how to address climate change impacts through sustainable materials, resilient urban planning, and innovative disaster mitigation strategies.

Prof Abdur Razzaque also expected the conference to foster collaborations between academics, industry leaders, and global experts for future research and projects.
