ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY, Kushtia, Dec 17, 2025 (BSS)- Islamic University (IU) administration in Kushtia today distributed a second slot of smart ID cards for the students under 2024-25 academic session.

University ICT cell handed over the cards to the respected department chairmen after an official programme held at the virtual room of ICT cell.

During the distribution ceremony, Jatiotabadi Chhatra Dal convener, Shahed Ahammed, member secretary Masud Rumi Mithun, Islami Chhatra Shibir president Mahmudul Hasan, Students Against Discrimination coordinator SM Sweet and other student leaders, ICT cell officials attended function with  Additional Director of ICT cell, Professor Dr Shariful Islam in the chair..

Meanwhile, Managing Director of smart ID card provider company ‘E-Business Soft Solution Limited’, Nazmus Shahadat gave a briefing on the procedures and challenges they faced during data collection.

Professor Dr. Md. Shariful Islam said, ‘There are several factors behind the delay in making the cards. Students’ information was collected through the website, and many students provided incorrect data. When we cross-checked the student database, we found that a lot of information was wrong. Some even submitted photos taken while sitting under trees.

We hope that once smart card readers are installed at the medical center, library, and halls, students will be able to avail all services using this card only.
