36 fresh dengue cases detected overnight

DHAKA, Jan 13, 2026 (BSS) - Health officials today said they recorded 36 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts in the past 24 hours.

"We recorded 36 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts in 24 hours ending at 8 am today," a spokesman of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said.

"Out of the 36 fresh cases, seven were hospitalised in Barishal division, 10 in Dhaka division excluding the capital, eight in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and five in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas, five in Rajshahi division and one in Mymensingh division, a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement said.

Since the start of the dengue onslaughts Bangladesh this year claimed one live and inflicted 646 people.

The dengue last year claimed 413 lives and inflicted 1,02,861 people in the country.

Besides, the dengue claimed 575 lives and inflicted 1,01,214 people in 2024.
