35 more dengue patients hospitalized

DHAKA, Jan 18, 2026 (BSS) – As many as 35 dengue patients were hospitalized across the country in the last 24 hours. 

However, no death was reported till the filing of the report, said a release of the Health Emergency Operation Center (HEOC) & Control Room of Bangladesh's Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS this evening.

Of the patients admitted to hospitals included five each in Barishal division (outside the City Corporation), Chittagong division (outside the City Corporation), Dhaka division (outside the City Corporation) and Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC). 

Besides, seven took admission in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), three in Khulna division (outside the City Corporation), two in Mymensingh division (outside the City Corporation) and three in Rajshahi division (outside the City Corporation), the release added.

Meanwhile, during the period 66 dengue patients have been discharged from the hospitals. With this, a total of 613 people have been discharged from the hospitals so far this year.

Until January 18, 2026, a total of 780 people including 62.8 percent men and 37.2 percent women were reportedly infected with dengue fever. Of these, one patient has died. 

In 2025, a total of 1, 02, 861 were infected with dengue across the country with a total of 413 people died of dengue.

Earlier, in 2024, a total of 1, 01, 216 people were infected with dengue and a total of 575 people died of dengue.
