
DHAKA, Jan 27, 2026 (BSS) - Families of the July uprising martyrs today voiced concerns over their security during a meeting with Professor Ali Riaz, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser, at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.
Shahidul Islam Bhuiyan, father of July martyr Farhan Faiyaz, said that the "No" vote campaign, driven by various influential quarters, has made the martyrs' families anxious about their safety.
During the meeting, the families' representatives briefed Professor Ali Riaz on their planned initiatives to support a "Yes" vote in the upcoming referendum. These activities include press conferences, rallies in Dhaka and across divisional and district towns, leaflet distribution on the July Charter and referendum, and loudspeaker campaigns.
Professor Ali Riaz assured them that those who sacrificed their lives for a brighter future for Bangladesh would remain an enduring source of inspiration for the nation.
Chief Adviser's Special Assistant (Consensus) Monir Haider was also present at the meeting.
July martyrs' families including Mir Mostafizur Rahman, father of martyr Mugdho; Md Mohiuddin, father of martyr Yamin; Kabir Hossain, father of martyr Jabir Ibrahim; Md Abdul Matin, father of martyr Shahriar; Md Golam Razzak, father of martyr Riyan; Md Gaus Ullah, brother of martyr Abdullah; Syed Gaziur Rahman, father of martyr Mostasir; Saif Ahmed Khan, son of martyr Abdul Hannan; Md Kamal Uddin, father of martyr Jobayer; Kazi Lulul Makhmin, mother of martyr Fahmin; Ainun Nahar, mother of martyr Naima; Mariam Khanam, wife of martyr Sohel and Rufayda Islam Chandni, daughter of martyr Monir attended the meeting.
