DHAKA, Jan 27, 2026 (BSS) - Adviser for Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) Affairs Supradip Chakma today said that Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has opened a new chapter in modern education and regional integration by launching e-learning in the Chittagong Hill Tracts.

The adviser made the remarks at the formal inauguration ceremony of e-learning activities in 12 schools across the three hill districts. The program was officially launched virtually by Professor Yunus from the State Guest House, Jamuna, in Dhaka.

Supradip Chakma highlighted that the initiative reflects the Chief Adviser's vision to expand quality education in the hilly region. "Through this unprecedented e-learning program, students in the Chittagong Hill Tracts are now connecting with world-class education," he said.

The e-learning activities cover a total of 12 schools - one primary and three secondary schools in each of the three hill districts. Adviser Supradip added that the plan aims to extend the program to at least 150 schools, with the tender process for the expansion expected to conclude this month.

Commenting on the government's development philosophy, he emphasized that the administration is committed to ensuring that the Chittagong Hill Tracts does not lag behind other regions of Bangladesh. The Adviser said the initiative will contribute to economic growth, improved communication, and tourism through technology.

He called on all stakeholders to work toward building a harmonious, modern hilly region grounded in human dignity and technological advancement.

Press Secretary to the Chief Adviser Mohammad Shafiqul Alam, Secretary of the Ministry of CHT Affairs Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, and senior officials of the Chief Adviser's Office attended the ceremony.
