Classroom crisis of BRUR will be resolved soon: VC

RANGPUR, Feb 4, 2026 (BSS) - Vice-chancellor (VC) of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) Professor Dr Md Showkat Ali has said the university's classroom crisis will be resolved soon once the construction work of vertical expansion of two academic buildings is completed.
 
He said this after inaugurating the newly constructed fifth-floor classroom unit of the university's Academic Building-4 by cutting a ribbon and unveiling a plaque at a function as the chief guest on Wednesday.
 
The new classrooms with modern facilities have been arranged for the students of the Department of Chemistry, Department of Physics and Department of Statistics of the university on the fifth floor.
 
The Vice-chancellor said that by using the rooms on the expanded part of the fifth floor, the long-standing classroom crisis of the university will be reduced to a large extent and more dynamism will be brought in the conduct of academic activities.
 
"The work of expanding the fourth to sixth floors of the two academic buildings of the university vertically is currently underway. Once the construction work is completed, the classroom crisis of all 22 departments of the university will be resolved," he said.
 
Proctor Dr Md Ferdous Rahman, Head of the Department of Physics Professor Dr Md Kamruzzaman, Head of the Department of Chemistry Dr Md Abdul Latif, Head of the Department of Statistics Dr Md Siddiqur Rahman, along with teachers and officials from various departments were present at the function.
