DHAKA, March 15, 2026 (BSS) - Opener Tanzid Hasan Tamim struck his maiden century as Bangladesh sealed a thrilling 11-run victory over Pakistan in the series-deciding third ODI at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium today.

With the win, Bangladesh clinched the three-match series 2-1. The hosts won the first ODI by eight wickets before Pakistan levelled the series with a 128-run victory in the second match via the DLS method.

Tanzid smashed a run-a-ball 107, hitting six fours and seven sixes, to propel Bangladesh to a formidable 290-5.

The bowlers then defended the total successfully despite a valiant century from Pakistan's Salman Ali Agha, who hammered a composed 106 off 98 balls, an innings laced with nine fours and four sixes.

His knock kept Pakistan in the contest until Taskin Ahmed removed him to finish with impressive figures of 4-49 in 10 overs.

After Salman's dismissal, captain Shaheen Shah Afridi kept Pakistan's hopes alive, but leg-spinner Rishad Hossain delivered a superb final over, dismissing Shaheen for 37 and eventually helping bowl the visitors out for 279 in 50 overs.

The foundation for Bangladesh's successful defence was laid early by Taskin, who removed Sahibzada Farhan and Mohammad Rizwan within the first three overs. Nahid Rana, who finished with 2-62, also dismissed Maaz Sadaqat as Pakistan slumped to 17-3.

Salman then resisted with calculated aggression, keeping Pakistan on course before Taskin delivered the decisive breakthrough to tilt the game back in Bangladesh's favour.

Mustafizur Rahman also played his part well, braving an injury to claim 2-54.

Earlier, Tanzid and Saif Hasan put on 105 runs for the opening stand, with Saif contributing 36. Najmul Hossain Shanto added 27.

Tanzid maintained the momentum through the middle overs, ensuring Bangladesh stayed on course for a big total. He became the third batter dismissed when left-arm spinner Abrar Ahmed removed him.

Liton Das and Towhid Hridoy then took charge, although neither reached a half-century. Liton scored 41, while Hridoy remained unbeaten on 48 off 44 balls, hitting four fours.

Haris Rauf was the standout bowler for Pakistan with 3-52 while Shaheen Afridi and Abrar Ahmed took one wicket apiece.
