JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY, Feb 6, 2026 (BSS) - Vice-President (VP) of Jahangirnagar University Central Students' Union (JUCSU) Abdur Rashid Zitu today formally joined the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), while several hall union leaders joined BNP's student wing, Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal.

The joining ceremony took place at BNP's central office at Naya Paltan in the capital this morning.

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi welcomed Zitu to the party in the presence of Chhatra Dal Central President Rakibul Islam Rakib and General Secretary Nasir Uddin.

Among the hall union leaders who joined Chhatra Dal are Ibn-e-Shihab, VP of Nawab Salimullah Hall; Rifat Ahmed Shakil, VP of Al-Beruni Hall; Raihan Kabir, VP of AFM Kamal Uddin Hall; Amit Banik, VP of Rabindranath Tagore Hall; Bobly Ahmed, VP of Nawab Faizunnesa Hall; Farzana Rithi, VP of Begum Khaleda Zia Hall; and Maruf Hasan, VP of Salam Barkat Hall.
