RAJSHAHI, Feb 10, 2026 (BSS) - The authorities of Rajshahi University (RU) have come to learn of reports circulated recently through various media claiming that the university is going to recruit a large number of officers and staff on an ad hoc basis in violation of existing rules.

RU in a press release here today said that the contents of these reports regarding ad hoc recruitment are completely false, baseless, and misleading.

In this regard, the RU authorities stated that at the Syndicate meeting held Monday, there was no initiative or plan to recruit officers or staff. No such issue was included in the meeting agenda either.

Whenever there is a need for recruitment at the university, it is carried out strictly in accordance with existing rules and regulations.

Under these circumstances, the so-called reports about large-scale recruitment of officers and staff appear to be malicious, deliberate rumors aimed at creating instability to serve the interests of certain quarters.

A stable and orderly environment has prevailed at RU for a long time. Classes and examinations are being conducted as usual.

At such a time, creating confusion based on fabricated issues is undesirable. If there is any need for information, it may be verified by contacting the relevant university authorities.

The RU authorities strongly condemn such baseless reports and call upon teachers, students, and all concerned to act responsibly and extend cooperation to ensure the smooth functioning of the university, the release added.
