BAGERHAT, Feb 20, 2026 (BSS) - State Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Sheikh Faridul Islam today warned that anyone attempting to engage in acts of vengeance would not be spared.

He made the remarks during his first visit to his home area of Rampal after assuming office. Upon his arrival, BNP leaders and local residents welcomed him with flowers and accorded him a warm reception.

The State Minister exchanged greetings with the people and inquired about their well-being. He was elected Member of Parliament (MP) from the Bagerhat-3 (Rampal-Mongla) constituency.

On the occasion, he said he would undertake positive and constructive initiatives for the development of the area. "You have elected me with your votes, and I will stand by you in your happiness and sorrow," he said.

Later, Sheikh Faridul Islam visited his parents' graves at the family graveyard and offered prayers. He then offered Jumu'ah prayers at the Jame Mosque in his village, Boro Diyar, and was scheduled to participate in various social programmes.
