KOICA delegation meets KU VC

KHULNA, Feb 24, 2026 (BSS) – A delegation of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) paid a visit to Khulna University to discuss expanding cooperation, particularly in strengthening Korean language education at the university.

During the visit, the delegation toured different infrastructures of the campus and reviewed the ongoing activities of the Korean language education programme.

Later, the delegation members paid a courtesy call on Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Rezaul Karim. 

At the meeting, the university expressed its keen interest in receiving Korean volunteer teachers to further expand the Korean language programme. The Vice-Chancellor assured all possible cooperation in this regard.

The discussion also emphasized enhancing student and faculty exchange programmes alongside language education. KOICA representatives briefed the university authorities about their ongoing fellowship programmes. Both sides expressed optimism about broadening international collaboration through increased mutual engagement in the future.

The KOICA delegation comprised Sujong Kang, Programme Manager for Bangladesh and Bhutan, and Md Meem Noor Hossain Turjo, Programme Manager of the Bangladesh Office.

At the end of the meeting, the Vice-Chancellor presented monogrammed crests to the guests on behalf of the university, while KOICA representatives also handed over a souvenir to the Vice-Chancellor.

Among others present at the meeting were Director of the Modern Language Center Professor Dr Muhammad Shahjalal, Director of the Office of International Affairs Professor Dr Md Ashiqur Rahman, and Professor Dr Md Ismat Qadir of the Electronics and Communication Engineering Discipline.
