Jamaat delegation meets US Assistant Secretary of state

DHAKA, March 5, 2026 (BSS) – A delegation of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami today met US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Paul Kapur in a courtesy meeting in the capital.

The meeting was held in a very cordial and friendly atmosphere at the residence of the US Ambassador in Dhaka this morning, said a press release. 

The Jamaat delegation was led by the party’s Nayeb-e-Ameer and Deputy Leader of the Opposition in Parliament Dr. Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher, MP.

Other members of the delegation included Assistant Secretary General Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan, Central Executive Council Member Saiful Alam Khan, Foreign Affairs Consultant of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury, and Special Adviser on Foreign Affairs to the Jamaat Ameer Barrister Mir Ahmed Bin Kasem.
