BOGURA, March 5, 2026 (BSS)- The Election Commission has declared the nomination papers of three candidates, including those from BNP and Jamaat, valid for the Bogura-6 (Sadar) parliamentary by-election scheduled for April 9.

The nomination papers were scrutinized in the presence of the candidates at the district election office this morning.

After the scrutiny, Senior District Election Officer Md Fazlul Karim declared the nomination papers of all three candidates valid.

The valid candidates are Md Rezaul Karim Badsha (BNP), Md Abidur Rahman Sohel (Jamaat) and Al Amin Talukdar (Bangladesh Development Party).

In the 13th Jatiya Sangsad elections held on February 12, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman won the Bogura-6 (Sadar) and Dhaka-17 constituencies.

Later, he vacated the Bogura-6 seat, prompting the Election Commission to declare the seat vacant and announce the schedule for the by-election.
