BNP to hold two-day workshop for its MPs

DHAKA, March 5, 2026 (BSS)- Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has arranged a two-day workshop for its Members of Parliament (MPs), particularly first-time elected members, to provide them with an understanding of parliamentary activities, including bills, the budget and the activities of standing committees.

Experienced former bureaucrats, academicians and former members of parliament will conduct the sessions. 

The workshop will outline MPs' responsibilities and discuss the strategic role they can play in strengthening parliamentary practices and enhancing efficiency in running ministries. 

As President Mohammed Shahabuddin will convene the first session of the 13th Jatiya Sangsad on March 12 at 11 am, the intensive training programme has been arranged primarily for newly elected public representatives and ministers ahead of the session.

The special training will be held for two days on March 6 and 7 at the BNP Chairperson's office in Gulshan. BNP Chairman and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is expected to inaugurate the workshop, according to BNP Media Cell member Shairul Kabir Khan.

On the first day, Friday (March 6), the workshop will be held in two sessions. Ministers, state ministers and advisers will participate in the morning session from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm.

After a lunch break, the second session will begin at 2:30 pm and continue until 4:30 pm.

Members of Parliament from Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka divisions and Faridpur district will attend the sessions on the first day. 

On the second day, March 7, MPs from Dhaka district, Mymensingh as well as the remaining MPs from Dhaka division and Faridpur district, will take part in the morning session. 

In the afternoon session, MPs from Sylhet, Cumilla and Chattogram regions will participate.
