Kaikobad calls for doa to resolve Middle East crisis

DHAKA, Mar 8, 2026 (BSS) - Religious Affairs Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad today urged the country's people to offer prayers for a peaceful resolution to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

He made the appeal while speaking at an iftar mahfil organised in honour of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman at the Gulshan Central Mosque in the capital this evening.

Stating that prayers are accepted before iftar, the minister called on everyone to pray for the protection and well-being of the country.

Kaikobad also sought prayers for the eternal peace of the departed souls of President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.

He further requested prayers for the safety and well-being of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

Later, the minister offered special prayers seeking peace, prosperity and progress for the country, the nation and the Muslim Ummah.

Among others, Islamic Foundation Director General A S Salam Khan and leaders of the mosque committee were present at the programme.

Around 10,000 fasting people participated in the iftar mahfil.
