DHAKA, Mar 14, 2026 (BSS) - The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) has instructed the authorities concerned to submit the demand for textbooks for the 2027 academic year online.

According to a directive signed by DSHE Assistant Director S. M. Ziaul Haider Henry, the demand must include textbooks for ‘Ibtedayi’, secondary level (Bangla and English versions), Dakhil, SSC and Dakhil Vocational as well as technical level.

The directive has been sent to all regional deputy directors of the directorate.

Earlier, the Directorate requested the concerned authorities to take the necessary steps following a directive issued by the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) on March 5.

According to the directive, upazila and thana secondary education offices have been asked to submit their textbook demand between March 4 and March 16. The deadline for district secondary education offices is March 29, while the offices of deputy directors (secondary) must submit the demand by March 31.

The directive said the demand for textbooks must be submitted online through the designated NCTB web application (https://nctb.ihealthscreen.org).

DSHE said no hard copy or soft copy sent via e-mail will be accepted. It also warned that the demand must strictly correspond to the number of students and no excessive or insufficient demand should be submitted. The officials responsible for providing the demand will be held accountable if any significant discrepancy is found.

District education officers will collect the demand for English version, SSC and Dakhil vocational and technical trade level textbooks from the offices under their jurisdiction and upload them online.

If there is any problem regarding user ID or password, the concerned authorities can seek assistance by clicking the emergency contact link on the NCTB web application for their respective district.
