DHAKA, Mar 14, 2026 (BSS)- The government has appointed administrators in five more city corporations- Barishal, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Rangpur and Cumilla.

Gazette notification in this regard has been published by the Ministry of Local Government today.

The notification said the administrators will remain in charge of the respective city corporations until elected bodies are constituted or until further government orders.

Under the new appointments, Bilkis Akhtar Jahan Shirin has been made administrator of Barishal City Corporation.

Mahfuzur Rahman has been appointed administrator of Rajshahi City Corporation.

In Mymensingh, the role has been given to Rukonuzzaman Rokon while Mahfuz Un Nabi Chowdhury has been appointed administrator of Rangpur City Corporation.

Md Yusuf Molla has been assigned as the administrator of Cumilla City Corporation.

Earlier on February 23 last, the government appointed full-time administrators in six City Corporations including Dhaka North and Dhaka South until the elections of the local bodies are held.
