JATIYA SANGSAD, Mar 14, 2026 (BSS)- Home Minister and BNP Standing Committee Member Salahuddin Ahmed has said the ordinances promulgated by the interim government will be referred to a Special Parliamentary Committee (SPC) for review. 

The committee will scrutinize the ordinances and submit reports to the parliament for consideration, he told journalists after the first meeting of the Parliamentary Business Advisory Committee at the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban today.

Replying to a question, Salahuddin said the issue of forming a constitutional reform council may be discussed in the parliament.

The parliament session will resume at 11 am tomorrow and recess for Eid-ul-Fitr vacation after end of the day’s proceedings. 

The parliament will again sit on March 29 and continue its session throughout the month of April, he said.

Prime Minister and Leader of the House Tarique Rahman was present in the meeting with Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad, Bir Bikram in the chair.

According to the Home Minister, the committee discussed several important issues related to the upcoming parliamentary proceedings. 

The issues included the duration of the session, key issues to be debated in the House, proposed laws to be placed before the parliament, and the time to be allocated for discussion on the president’s address, he said.

LGRD and Cooperatives Minister and BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Opposition Leader of the House and President of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dr Shafiqur Rahman, Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, Chief Whip Nurul Islam Moni, Law Minister Md Asaduzzaman and Opposition Chief Whip Nahid Islam were present among others. 

Deputy Speaker Barrister Kayser Kamal also attended the meeting on special invitation.
