Govt. moves to resume HSC classes at Eden College

DHAKA, March 29, 2026 (BSS) - The government is set to take steps to resume 
higher secondary (HSC) level classes at the historic Eden Mohila College here.

The Ministry of Education has instructed the college authorities to submit a 
proposal through the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE).

In this regard, the ministry has sent a letter to the principal of Eden 
Mohila College via the DSHE.

The ministry's letter has asked key information from the college including 
the details on when and why higher secondary teaching was discontinued at the 
institution, and whether reopening it would require any additional government funding.

The principal of Eden Mohila College has been requested to provide the 
necessary information in a formal proposal through the Directorate of 
Secondary and Higher Education.
