DHAKA, March 29, 2026 (BSS) - Russian Ambassador to Bangladesh Alexander Khozin today discussed the Middle East crisis and bilateral cooperation with Foreign Secretary Asad Alam Siam, reaffirming Moscow's support for a political resolution.

Ambassador Khozin met with the foreign secretary at the foreign ministry here, according to the Russian Embassy in Dhaka. "The crisis in the Middle East was also brought up (at the meeting)," the embassy said in a statement after the meeting.

The Russian envoy said Russia supports a swift end to hostilities and remains ready to facilitate a solution to the ongoing conflict through political and diplomatic means.

During the meeting, the two sides also discussed issues of mutual interest, including ongoing cooperation between Bangladesh and Russia at the United Nations and through engagements between the foreign ministries of the two countries.

Both sides underscored the importance of continued dialogue and collaboration in addressing regional and global challenges, the statement added.
