DHAKA, Apr 6, 2026 (BSS) - A colourful rally marking National and International Sports Day-2026 was held in the capital today, organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

The rally began in front of the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the morning and, after parading through major city roads, concluded at the National Sports Council premises.

State Minister for Youth and Sports Md Aminul Haque led the procession. Officials and employees from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Department of Youth Development, National Sports Council and Sports Directorate took part in the rally.

Players and organizers from various sports federations also joined spontaneously, creating a festive atmosphere.

Speaking to journalists after the rally, the State Minister thanked all participants and said sports not only enhance physical fitness but also help build strong social bonds.

He noted that sports play a significant role in building a healthy and drug-free society.

Highlighting the unifying power of sports, he said it is a platform free from division and urged people from all walks of life, irrespective of political or ideological differences, to work together to build a sports-friendly nation.
