
DHAKA, April 12, 2026 (BSS) - Prime Minister and Chief Patron of 'Amra BNP Poribar' Tarique Rahman has stood by the family of Feni Juba Dal leader Harunur Rashid, who was killed by police in 2013, by gifting a new house.
A delegation of Amra BNP Poribar today visited Harun's village home at Jagat Jibonpur in Farhadnagar area of Feni Sadar and inaugurated the construction work of the new house.
Amra BNP Poribar Adviser Abul Kashem inaugurated the constriction work, said Member Secretary of the organization agriculturist Md Moksedul Momin Mithun.
"Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is a humanitarian leader. He stands by those who were persecuted and martyred during the previous fascist regime. Harun was martyred in police firing in 2013," Mithun said.
"Today, we have come to inaugurate the construction of his house, which was gifted by the Prime Minister. Earlier, we came to the wedding of Harun Bhai's daughter. InshaAllah, we will remain beside this family," he added.
Abul Kashem said the Prime Minister has been inquiring about this family from the beginning.
The premier assured the family that he would provide them with a house, he said, adding, "Today we inaugurated that work".
Kashem said the Amra BNP Poribar was formed in 2023 and since then this organization has been standing by those who were persecuted and martyred during the fascist regime in the past 17 years.
Feni District BNP Convener Sheikh Farid Bahar, Member Secretary Alal Uddin Alal, Upazila BNP Convener Fazlur Rahman Bokul, Municipality BNP Member Secretary Advocate Mesbah Uddin Bhuiyan and Upazila BNP Member Secretary Aman Uddin Kaiser Sabbir were present on the occasion, among others.
Feni district Jubo Dal Member Secretary Naim Ullah Chowdhury Borat conducted a prayer on the occasion.
Harunur Rashid was killed on December 4 in 2013, after being shot by police during a procession supporting a hartal on Shaheed Shahidullah Kaiser Road in Feni town.
