DHAKA, April 12, 2026 (BSS) – The Election Commission (EC) will publish the updated final voter list on May 14, EC Director (Public Relations) and Information Officer Md Ruhul Amin Mallick said here today.

A letter regarding the publication and finalisation of the draft voter list, signed by EC Senior Assistant Secretary Md Nasir Uddin Chowdhury, has been sent to all upazila election offices.

According to the letter, the National Identity Registration Department will prepare a PDF of the draft voter list of eligible voters (born on or before January 1, 2008) registered as of March 31, 2026, and provide a link to it on the CMS portal on April 15.

Based on this, the draft voter list will be published on April 20.

After the publication of the draft voter list, the deadline for submitting applications for inclusion of eligible persons, deletion of names due to death or ineligibility, transfer of voters, and correction of errors will be May 3.

These applications will be disposed of by the concerned upazila or thana election officer and registration officer by May 6.

The deadline for submitting decisions on the applications is May 10, after which the updated final voter list will be published on May 14.

The letter also stated that the printed draft voter list should be kept open for public inspection during this period. Announcements should be made before and after prayers through imams and priests at places of worship, including mosques and temples, to encourage correction of errors and raise public awareness.

In addition, steps should be taken to publicise the matter through local cable operators and the media.

It further stated that necessary measures should be taken to include eligible persons, remove names of deceased or ineligible individuals, transfer voters, correct entries, eliminate errors and omissions, and rectify gender and religion-related inaccuracies in the voter list.

The letter instructed the concerned authorities to take necessary steps to implement these directives.
