DHAKA, April 17, 2026 (BSS) - US Special Envoy for Best Future Generations Charles J. Harder is set to arrive in Dhaka tomorrow for a three-day visit to advance bilateral cooperation on education and child welfare.

During the visit, Special Envoy Harder will hold meetings with senior government officials and key stakeholders to expand partnerships supporting Bangladesh's next generation, said a media note issued by the US embassy here today.

According to the US Department of State, the envoy's office focuses on protecting and promoting the well-being of children aged 0-17 worldwide.

His engagements will prioritise areas including food security, education, healthcare, water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), as well as efforts to end child labour, trafficking, and recruitment into gangs and armed conflict.

The envoy also regularly engages with representatives of foundations, corporations, non-profit and faith-based organisations, alongside international bodies, to develop "creative and common-sense solutions" to challenges affecting children, their families and communities.
