
DHAKA, April 18, 2026 (BSS)- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, chief patron of Amra BNP Poribar, has stood by the grieving family of three-year-old Siam, who recently died of measles in the city.
A delegation from the organization went to Kamrangirchar and met Siam's father Shamim and mother Nahar this afternoon.
The team conveyed the Prime Minister's message of sympathy to them. At the same time, they provided medical assistance for their another child who is also suffering from measles.
The delegation was led by Agriculturist Moksedul Momin Mithun, Member Secretary of Amra BNP Poribar.
Agriculturist Moksedul Momin Mithun said, a report titled- Mother traumatized by one child's death from measles and fear for her other child- was published in various media outlets, which came to the attention of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
Subsequently, he instructed his Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Rumon to send a delegation to meet the grieving family promptly.
Following this, the delegation went to Kamrangirchar this afternoon and met Siam's parents.
Members of Amra BNP Poribar Masud Rana Liton, Mostakim Billah, Shakil Ahmed, former General Secretary of BUET Chatro Dal Engineer Abu Hanif, Swechchhasebak Dal leader Imtiaz Shetu, and Dhaka College Chatra Dal leader Abdullah Al Misbah, were present, among others.
It is known that the family's elder child, six-year-old Nehal, and younger child, Siam, were hospitalized last month after contracting measles. Siam died on the day of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr.
