BNP nominates 36 women in reserved seats of parliament

DHAKA, April 20, 2026 (BSS) - BNP has confirmed nominations for 36 women in reserved seats of the National Parliament. 

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi disclosed this at a press conference here today.

Rizvi said, members of the nomination board took interviews of the candidates to nominate for the reserved women's seats in parliament. 

After the interviews, the nomination board selected 36 individuals.

The nominees are- Selima Rahman, Shirin Sultana, Rasheda Begum Hira, Rehana Akhter Ranu, Newaz Halima Arly, Mosammat Farida Yasmin, Bilkis Islam, Shakila Farzana, Helen Jerin Khan, Nilufar Chowdhury Moni, Nipun Roy Chowdhury, Jeba Amin Khan, Mahmuda Habiba, Sabira Sultana, Sansila Zebrin, Sanjida Islam Tuli, Sultana Ahmed, Fahmida Haque, Anna Minj, Subarna Sikder, Shamima Ara Begum Swapna, Shammi Akhtar, Ferdousi Ahmed, Bithika Binte Hussain, Suraiya Jerin, Mansura Akhter, Joharat Adib Chowdhury, Momtaz Alam, Fahima Nasrin, Arifa Sultana, Sanjida Yasmin, Shaukat Ara Akhter, Madhabi Marma, Selina Sultana and Rezeka Sultana.

According to party sources, a total of 1,025 nomination forms were sold when around 900 were submitted.
