PM distributes ‘Family Card’ in Bogura

BOGURA, April 20, 2026 (BSS)- Prime Minister and BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman distributed ‘Family Card’ among 911 people here today.

The card distribution programme was arranged at Shaheed Zia Degree College ground in the Bagbari area of Gabtoli upazila this afternoon.

On the occasion, the party anthem of BNP- ‘Prothom Bangladesh Amar, Shesh Bangladesh’ was played while the Prime Minister and his wife Dr Zubaida Rahman stood up and joined in the singing.
 
Social Welfare Minister AZM Zahid Hossain and other party leaders and supporters also stood up and joined the choir.

The Prime Minister rolled out the ‘Family Card’ distribution programme in Dhaka on March 10 as part of fulfilling the BNP government's election pledge to improve the people’s living standard through women's empowerment.

Under a pilot scheme, the Family Card will be given to 37,567 female-headed families in 14 upazilas by June. Under this programme, each family will receive Taka 2,500 per month.

The government will issue this card in the name of the mother or female head of the family.

This card will be converted into a universal social ID card by 2030.
